Oculus Quest 2 is the next iteration of the Oculus Quest. The first iteration of the headset launched in 2018. The new device takes everything great about the original version, and improves on it with a few new and more useful features. The Quest 2 has two cameras, allowing the user to play games and use two-handed controllers. It also features improved speakers, a bigger battery, and a more powerful processor.
Recently, I got weired experience with my Oculus Quest 2. It is not workign properly and also lagging. When I asked some of my gamer friend, they are also facing the same issue.
I have researched about this issue and found some guides. In this article, I am sharing it to fix the issue.
To fix the Oculus Quest 2 issue, you have to factory reset your Oculus Quest 2.
Note that resetting your Oculus Quest 2 will remove all your data and settings. So if you are worried about your data, take a backup of it.
How to back up Oculus Quest 2 data
Navigate to the following path:
Settings > System > Backup > Toggle backup to ‘On’.
How to factory reset Oculus Quest 2 with Oculus App
Here are some quick steps to factory reset Oculus Quest 2.
Step 1: Open Oculus App
Charge your Oculus Quest 2 and then open the Oculus app on your phone.
Step 2: Select your headset
Go to menu > Devices and select Quest 2.
Step 3: Reset the Quest 2
Select the Quest 2 > Advanced Settings > Factory Reset > confirm.
It will take sometime to reset and restore all data.
How to factory reset Oculus Ques 2 Using the headset
You can also use your Oculus Ques 2 the headset to reset Oculus.
Step 1: Charge your headset
Make sure that your Quest 2 headset is charged.
Step 2: Open Quest 2 boot screen
- Power off your headset.
- Then turn on your headset + hold the volume-down and power button until you see the boot screen.
Step 3: Confirm factory reset
Navigate down to the ‘Factory Rest’ with volume keys and select it with the power button.
In few seconds, Oculus Quest 2 will factory reset.
